100 years of OGV Urweiler: Big celebration on the last weekend in June!
The Urweiler fruit and horticultural association (OGV) is facing a very special occasion. To mark its 100th anniversary, a big anniversary celebration will be organized from June 27th to 29th, 2025. The celebrations will take place around the clubhouse, also known as the “Kappeshäuschen”, and promise a varied program for young and old. According to the Saarbrücken newspaper The organizers have already planned many attractions to delight visitors.
In the run-up to the anniversary, the SZ spoke to the organizational team about the eventful history of the association, which has not only been able to continuously increase its membership over the years, but also plays an important role in Urweiler's village life. The arc that connects tradition and plans for the future stretches from its founding to the present.
Summer festival 2024
Sunday, July 14th, starts at 3:00 p.m. with a selection of homemade cakes and coffee. Hearty specialties and fresh side dishes are also offered. This festival is aimed at the entire family and offers numerous activities and games for children to strengthen the village community and make new friends. The OGV Urweiler hopes for numerous visitors and a great success of the summer festival, which has developed into an integral part of the club's activities Sankt Wendel Current reported.
