Big Hanomag meeting at Bostalsee: 180 vehicles from all over Germany!

The 18th international Whitsun meeting for friends of Hanomag AL 28 took place at Bostalsee last Whitsun weekend, from May 17th to 20th. Organized by Mary and Erwin Raddatz, this event attracted more than 180 vehicles, including classic Hanomag models, VW Bullys, Ford Transits and various motorhomes. Participants from all over Germany as well as from the Netherlands and France gathered to share the fascination for four-wheel vehicles and to promote exchange among like-minded people. What is particularly noteworthy is that 23 newcomers were there for the first time; some participants even traveled with caravans because their craft projects were not yet fully completed.

The event took place on a festival meadow on Bostalsee, which is considered the largest parking space for mobile homes in Saarland. The majority of vehicles parked there are converted old models that serve as a cost-effective alternative to off-road chassis. Each vehicle turns out to be unique with its individual bodies, which further enriches the diversity of the meeting. The repairability of the Hanomag AL 28 in remote regions is another advantage that requires technical understanding. Other motorhome drivers are also welcome, regardless of the manufacturer of their vehicles.

A varied program

The meeting was not only an opportunity to admire the vehicles and exchange ideas, but also a cultural event. The program included a travel report on Friday, while live music thrilled the audience on Saturday. On Sunday evening, further travel reports were presented, giving participants exciting insights into the world of mobile travel. A children's party on Sunday and Monday also ensured family fun and joy.

The high number of participants and the variety of vehicles illustrate the great interest in this event. For further information, Erwin Raddatz offers contact options on Tel. The meeting not only promoted the exchange between motorhome enthusiasts, but also strengthened the community within the Hanomag AL 28 friends. As the Saarbrücken newspaper reported that the participants came from different regions, including Munich and Hamburg, which further consolidated the social network among the travelers.

Going forward, organizers plan to continue hosting such meetings to foster community and welcome new members. With the exciting program highlights and the opportunity to marvel at unique vehicles, the Whitsun meeting of the Hanomag AL 28 friends will probably also attract many enthusiasts in 2026.
