The ongoing renovation work on the Kieselhumes Stadium is causing significant problems for the clubs 1. FC Saarbrücken and SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken. Numerous competitions are scheduled in Saarbrücken in a total of 27 sports, spread across ten different venues. The sports venues particularly affected include the Ludwigspark Stadium for football and the Saarlandhalle for badminton.
