Significant storms are expected in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland on Sunday. The German Weather Service (DWD) has warned of heavy rain, thunderstorms and isolated hail. Temperatures on Sunday will range between 22 and 25 degrees. Isolated thunderstorms and showers are possible, especially on Monday night, while temperatures will drop to 10 to 15 degrees. Monday, however, will be sunny and largely free of precipitation, with highs between 22 and 26 degrees, as n-tv.de reports.
There is further potential for temperature increases on Tuesday, with values between 26 and 29 degrees. In addition, weak winds and largely cloudless, sunny weather are expected. This improvement follows a rainy and thundery Sunday.
Severe weather warnings in detail
The severe weather warnings are divided into different warning levels. The warning levels for wind gusts are divided into four categories, ranging from warnings for gusts over 50 km/h to extreme severe weather warnings for gusts over 140 km/h.
