Rhineland-Palatinate is suffering: foreign trade collapses - exports fall drastically!

Rhineland-Palatinate shows a decline in foreign trade in the first quarter of 2025. Exports amounted to 14.8 billion euros, down 0.7 percent compared to the first quarter of 2024, while imports were 11 billion euros, down 1 percent. On the export side, chemical products were the winners with an increase of 9.7 percent and metals with 15 percent, while exports of machinery and motor vehicles fell. Foreign trade with the USA stood out, with a slight increase in exports of 0.6 percent and a strong increase in imports of 25 percent. For chemical products, exports to the USA rose by 38 percent, while metal exports there increased by 68 percent.
