Legend comes to life: Marriott Hotel Alfa in Luxembourg celebrates reopening!

The Marriott Hotel Alfa in Luxembourg City reopened its doors today, and the reopening is being hailed as “The Rebirth of a Legend.” The hotel, whose site has been listed since 1991, has a fascinating history that dates back to the 1930s. The hotel's new splendor is accompanied by numerous renovations that pay tribute to its original patron, Hotel Alfa.

The hotel offers a total of 153 rooms, including 31 suites. A particular highlight in the culinary offerings is the Brasserie Alfa, which serves a delicious combination of Luxembourgish-French cuisine. Special delicacies such as homemade pastry pies and Gilardeau oysters are on the menu. The hotel's location, directly opposite the main train station, makes it particularly attractive for travelers.

Design and atmosphere

The hotel was redesigned by interior design firm Iria Degen Interiors, cleverly combining Art Deco design with modern elements. The recurring design elements include zigzag motifs, curves and arches that give the room a special elegance. The color scheme is inspired by shades of blue, rose and green, complemented by natural materials such as wood, stone and ceramic. Additionally, restored works by the painter Julien Lefèvre are exhibited in the public areas.

Particularly noteworthy are the Greatroom Lobby and the exclusive M Club Lounge, which offer guests a high-quality retreat. Historically, the hotel was not only a place to stay, but also a place for important events, including jazz evenings and a 1944 Christmas party in the presence of Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Marriott International and future prospects

The group is headquartered in Maryland, USA. The reopening of the Marriott Hotel Alfa is a significant event in the context of the Luxembourg hotel industry and demonstrates Marriott's commitment to offering quality and hospitality at a high level.

The reopening of the Marriott Hotel Alfa not only creates a new hotspot in Luxembourg City, but also a connection to the location's rich history. As one of the first Marriott Group hotels in Europe, the hotel marks a new beginning and focuses on tradition and modernity at the same time.
