Kraftklub inspires Chemnitz: Free concert and new album announced!
The band Kraftklub gave a surprise concert in front of the Schauspielhaus in Chemnitz on Wednesday evening, shortly before Ascension Day. The event attracted thousands of fans who spilled out into the streets as seats were unavailable an hour before the concert began. The countdown for the concert was displayed above the Schauspielhaus on Wednesday morning and the mood was exuberant despite the surprising situation, not least because of the unexpectedly dry weather.
Kraftklub took the opportunity to announce their new album. “Die in Karl-Marx-Stadt” will be released on November 28th, 2025, and the band is planning a comprehensive tour through Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg in 2026. The tour starts on March 3rd, 2026 in Schwerin, the last concert will take place on August 29th, 2026 in Hamburg.
Tour highlights and local concert
An important date for local fans has already been set: Kraftklub will perform at the Rockhal in Luxembourg on March 13, 2026. Tickets for the entire tour will be available on the band's website from May 29th at 6 p.m. Another highlight of the tour will be an open-air concert on June 27, 2026 in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium in Dresden.
During the concert, the band members expressed their solidarity with the occupiers of the theater. They are protesting against the cultural and social cuts that are affecting the city. The theater is currently empty because the planned renovation was put on hold due to cost explosions. The band wants to use its activities to draw attention to important issues in local culture.
Unfortunately, the live stream of the concert, which was intended to attract many fans online, could not take place due to a poor internet connection. Nevertheless, the concert in Chemnitz was a complete success and further increased anticipation for the upcoming album and tour. Fans can look forward to an exciting year with the band.
