Fête de la Musique: Over 300 free concerts in Luxembourg!

Preparations for the Fête de la Musique in Luxembourg are in full swing. From June 13 to 21, 2025, the country will be transformed into a musical festival that will delight visitors with over 300 free concerts. This event, celebrated in Luxembourg since 2000 and dating back to its first implementation in France in 1982, attracts tens of thousands of music lovers every year.

Music events will take place in numerous communities, from Bourscheid in the north to Dudelange in the south, and from Ell in the west to Mertert in the east. The main locations are particularly highlighted, including Luxembourg City with public stages at Place Guillaume II, Place de la Constitution, Place d’Armes and Place des Bains. Stages are also planned in Dudelange for June 20th and 21st, which will offer an extensive program.

Diversity of music and local integration

The stylistic spectrum of music ranges from classical music to pop, rock and folk to jazz, metal, blues, Latin, electro and hip-hop. The Fête de la Musique also encourages the involvement of local music schools and youth orchestras to support and showcase local musical talent.

The event is organized by an a.s.b.l. recognized by the Ministry of Culture. This requires compliance with an ethics charter, which also includes aspects of ecological responsibility. The organization also encourages event organizers to incorporate eco-friendly practices and offers inspiration in the form of a PDF on good practices to promote sustainable events.

Although there are currently no mandatory requirements for ecological practices, the organization's goal is to create positive examples and mobilize the support of organizers to evaluate the feasibility of such responsible events.

The Fête de la Musique not only offers a platform for artists and musicians, but also the opportunity to celebrate culture in Luxembourg while acting in an environmentally conscious manner. As Volksfreund reports, the event promises to be an unforgettable experience that brings together music lovers and artists from all corners of society.
